The Bombay High Court acquitted Salman Khan in the 2002 hit and run case. In May this year, he was found guilty and was sentenced to a term of five years. However, he had applied for a bail which was granted to him by the Bombay high court and he did not go to jail. Following which, he had challenged his conviction and the five-year sentence for which the final verdict is out.
He has been acquitted in the case as the prosecution has failed to establish charges on all counts against him. The prosecution also failed to prove that Salman was drunk or driving at the time of the accident which killed one payment dweller and injured four others.
